Upcoming Event


This could be a good event for all you Business Savers or any of you who would like to check out some venders and the Youth Makers Market. 


Help MESO wrap up the summer in style by attending our Block Party on Sept. 3. 

The event, which will run from noon to 6 p.m. at MESO’s main campus at 4008 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Portland, will feature live entertainment, food, plenty of fun and MESO client vendors. Admission is free.

The Block Party also will feature MESO’s first ever Youth Makers Market for young entrepreneurs in grades 3-12. Applications are available online and must be submitted by Aug. 22. Applications must be signed by a parent or guardian and all selected youth vendors must be accompanied by a person over 18 while participating in the market.

    Where was this when I was a young teen? OH! Not in Waldport, OR - population 450 (the town including the school population too). :)

Residents Organizing for Change Summit

  Hey! I’m attending an event for housing justice because I believe in an Oregon where everyone has a safe, stable place to call home. It’s Dec. 15 & 16 from 2-5pm over Zoom. I’m excited for it because …. (community, learning about important political issues and storytelling skills). Summary of our last meeting

  1.     Introductions – We made our introductions and welcomed two new Savers to our group.   2.     ROC (Residents Organizing for Change) talked about what they do and how folks can get involved. They are working on their own Bill, and it should be introduced next session. Universal Basic Income (UBI) is what it’s about and came from their conference last year. First time this is being proposed in Oregon. Ballot Party on October 11 th from 1:30p – 3:30p. Very important measures coming up. NW Pilot Project has been trying to do a UBI but haven’t been able to yet. We encouraged all who attended to think about getting involved with ROC. Please reach out if you have any questions about this. They have a standing meeting called RUCKUS every other Tuesday.
